The Impeachment of President Trump was Necessary

United States President Donald J. Trump becomes only the third president in American history to be impeached by the House of Representatives. Two articles of impeachment were adopted. The votes were strictly among party lines.

Article 1 accuses the president of Abuse of Power. It passed by a vote of 230-197-1.

Article 2 alleges the president of Obstruction of Congress. It passed by a vote of 229-198-1.

It was necessary for the Democratic-led House of Representatives to impeach President Trump. His actions were beyond the norms that built the politics of America. The phone transcripts between him and Ukranian President Volodymyr Zelensky were already enough to prove the president’s reckless actions. The testimonies from revered diplomats and military officials did strongly justify the president’s recklessness.

The Democrats made a bold action to adopt two articles of impeachment.

If Congress ignored such actions, then they ignored their responsibility to the nation to serve as a check-and-balance to the executive branch.

No educated person would be able to stomach the actions of the president. Republicans certainly understand that the president’s misdemeanors warrant an impeachment. But they ought to defend him outright because they know that supporting impeachment will cost them their seats. They can’t afford to lose power for siding with the truth.

The Democrats made a bold action to adopt two articles of impeachment. They were wary at first because, like the Republicans, they feared that their majority may lose because of it. However, by doing their jobs, they manifested integrity and decentness. Never mind if impeachment costs them politically. What’s important is that they did not look away when something wrong was being done in front of them.

I hope that the GOP will be enlightened by the facts shoved on them. It’s not too late to hold the president accountable. The Republican Senators who will serve as the jury in the impeachment trial may be able to change the course of the country from going the wrong way to the right one.

The American people should discern that what they are looking on their screens is not something that the Democrats wanted. They were forced to do their jobs because the president thought that he could do whatever he wanted without accountability.
